Spring Weather

S U N N Y: Valentine's Gatsby Party (it's been a while since i've updated) | Sunny St. George | Playground Slides | sharing a creamie | another semester done | the garden | a couple successful pinterest crafts | splash pads | swimming suits | a BBQ with friends | a good 18 holes | getting my grandmother's-mother's piano | spring photo shoot with meg | skiing with fluffy snow, sunny weather + my colby | playing in the sprinklers | morning cuddles while watching elmo | morning stretches | Colby in his sexy Golf attire | Cadence's long hair | running outside with out long sleeves | crazy spring time leggings on sale, I just might have worn them 3 days in a row! | general conference weekend as a family.

Naturally it wouldn't be spring with out the cloudy days. Which are worth remembering too.

2013 was an incredible year for Miss Cadence Jade. She has really blossomed into an incredible human being. With 2013 still on my mind, I couldn't help but stop +think about all the things this girl had learned. Of course you have your usuals, walking, talking, running, + such. But I thought more about the  little daily acts of funny! I have decided I need to be recording in a journal all the "funny Cadence moments" for each day - - - goal for 2014!  I have had to learn how to keep up with this goof ball. We are always singing + dancing, whether to elmo ("lala") or to Britney Spears. This girl has so much energy. So even though I didn't write down a daily journal for "funny Cadence moments of 2013" here are a few moments we wanted to rememer.

1- "nana" is our go to Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, + Snack
2- dance parties in the car consist of a lot of head banging
3- walking is NOT an option. we must  r u n  everywhere
4- mom's arms inside of the stores became uncool when her squishy feet began to work
5- water through a straw is way cooler than through a sippy, even tho it ends up all over her shirt
6- the floor under the high chair is where 99.9999999 % of CJ's food ends up
7- doggies are possibly the coolest things around town
8- saying "dadda" is impossible with out a smile
9- dancing is always required when music is turned on
10- we've cut her "baby mullet" 3 times already

                         Hiring MEGAN CHERIE was possibly the greatest idea of all great ideas!

 I have nothing but good words to say about this talented photographer! This was the least painful set of family pictures I have ever been apart of! Because as much as I want to be the chill momma that never stresses about such things, lets be honest! That's near to impossible for me. My momma side definitely started to come out.

"are the leaves going to still be pretty that late?, what are we going to wear?, do i look large in these leggings?, I just know Cadence's hair is going to be in her eyes, crap her moccs are too big still, is Colby's hair cut too James Dean?, do i eat before so i am happy or do i eat after so i don't look bloated?, do we match?, crap are we too matchy matchy?, hair curly or hair straight?, i can't get this blasted hair color off my nails, Cadence didn't get two naps today + now she is going to cry the entire time..."

But as we started our drive up Guardsman, Megan was as reassuring as could be. She complimented + calmed me right down! With the shoot only taking 30 minutes, Colby was happy, Cadence was happy, + I got all the amazing pictures I wanted!

pink, gold + girly

I decided that since i would probably be throwing halloween birthday parties for the rest of my life I was going to take advantage of CJ not being able to choose + throw a nothing but pink, gold + girly party! It turned out to be a fantastic night! Cadence has so many people in her life who love + care about her!

We had food, punkin cookies, and of course a  p i n k  c a k e !   She got to open a heaping amount of presents, dig her hands + feet into a cake, + draw out a career of what the guests thought she might be when she grows up (everyone had high expectations for you little miss Cadence Jade ;) )

hiking + such

we have surely enjoyed the last couple of weeks, well most of the last couple of weeks. Cadence has been loving the fall weather. we have enjoyed many hiking + hot chocolate adventures. October has flown by, which i am not stoked about! this means my little hiking buddy will be one.......... O N E you guys. it's ok tho because we're going to party like rock stars + eat lots of cake!

we did the whole zoo thing a couple of weeks ago, + Cadence couldn't wait to see which animal was next so she could show off all her animal noises.

like i mentioned before, we have enjoyed the hiking weather, + we try to take advantage of it as much as possible. even if that means we just play in the field across the street with the sheep. this kiddo loves to be outside. we are still working on those walking skills! so her pants all take a beating at the knee when we are outside. her dancing skills on the other hand.....  a m a z i n g ! ! !

the teeth! we now have  t w o  bottom,  t w o  top,  +  t w o  more on the top coming in. food has become this chunky munchkins favorite now, thanks to these teethies.
we hope to be able to enjoy a few more weeks like we have had, + can't wait to  p a r t y  on the 31st (birthday + Halloween) !!!

Bubbly Munchkin

Miss Cadence Jade is now officially 10 1/2 months! She is so much fun right now with all her animal sounds, + her fun bubbly personality. She can ROAR like a lion, NEH like a horse, bark + many many more!

(this is a video of some animal noices, I don't know how to change the format for Iphones and such, SO if you REALLY want to watch then you may need to pull it up on a computer. Sorry :( )

She is ALL over the place! She crawls up + over everything that is in her way. She sets her mind on something and there is no stopping her, if you do, her screaming doesn't stop until she gets her way.

The munchkins stubbornness, OHHHH her stubbornness!!! She has got to get this from her Daddy. She will fight me for hours just so she doesn't have to nap. She has lungs like you wouldn't believe! If she thinks there is anything fun she is going to miss, then nap time is out of the question. However if she is content, I can lay her in her crib + she can play "make believe" for hours. No, I am being serious! She will talk to her self, or to her hands for some times a full hour. Its so easy to get distracted by just sitting + watching the monitor for pure entertainment. The "make believe" thing has got to come from me.

This girl loves LOVES food, + if you saw those thunder thighs than you would know I'm not making that up! She will eat mostly anything we put in front of her. However some favorites are sweet potatoes, squash, +  fresh raspberries. The more chunky my munchkin gets the better. She has perfectly round chunky feet + thighs, + her cheeks + dimples just get bigger + better! 

Cadence's bubblyness is quit contagious, + she can light up a room with just one ROAR. Colby + I both agree it's wonderful having a smiling face to always come home to. Please let our little munchkin never lose her bubbly.

a Hawaiian adventure

 

 

I have no reason to sit and describe our adventures, when our pictures do all the talking. As you can see it was the perfect Hawaiian adventure, you know, the one you NEVER want to come home from! We played at the beach (everyday of course), golfed, and I even convinced Colby to come on a beautiful hike (he even acted like he enjoyed it, and it wasn't technically easy). Cadence was an absolutely angel the entire trip. She was great on the long flight to and from, and she wasn't sure what to think of the beach at first but ended up loving it. Of course coming home and trying to get back on schedule is always a fight, but we are finally back on track (a week and a half later!!!). Thanks babe for an amazing first mothers day, and I am so grateful we could enjoy this beautiful world God created for us with my family. My mom and dad out did themselves again!
