You've Gotta friend In Me

Since the day Cadence was born I have been her best friend. She always wants me to snuggle, + play with her (which, lets be honest, can get exhausting)! I love when my munch talks to me, but this girl can talk! She will talk + talk + talk + well you get the idea! She always wants me to interact with her, whether its reading a book or cuddling, as long as I am in the room giving my 100% attention to her. If I turn my eyes toward the screen of my phone, laptop, or yoga mat, she will let me know she is not ok with it! "Don't even think about leaving me with no one to play with" her eyes will tell me. As you can see being her best friend can be a challenge. A challenge I didn't realize, until recently, I was taking advantage of.
As Colby + I were sitting down enjoying some time together on Sunday, we realized how content Cadence was. She wasn't talking our ears off with her loud high pitched coos, trying to get our attention. Instead, she was playing with her hands, talking to them. Those hands have become our little munches best friend. On Sunday I was relieved, I finally could sit + just have a moment! However as the week went on I started to realize that this was only the beginning. Now that she has replaced a little of me with her hands, I can see down the road that I will be replaced with much more: friends, school, sports, boyfriends, etc. So from now on I will try to cherish every moment with this growing angel of mine. I will hold on to the good moments and breath deeply through the tough ones. I will continue to be her best friend and can only hope she will want to be mine!
